Potions: Kit Instructions
Where intention meets creation, the work of your hands becomes its own kind of spell.
A Weaving of Hopes & Herbs
Crafting is at the core of my magical practice, and spell jars or sachets are one of my favorite tools. But when I started making them, I quickly realized how many barriers stand in the way of actually creating one:
Ingredient overwhelm. It’s hard to know which herbs, resins, or crystals to use—or how to use them with intention.
Lack of hands-on kits. So many options available to us as parents or individuals are pre-made jars, which doesn’t leave room to adjust for your own style or craft. I provide you everything you need, while letting you do the magic your way.
Accessibility and pricing. Why buy an ounce of blue lotus when all you need is a single flower or a tablespoon of lavender? When you do need more than I offer, I’m more than happy to direct you to amazing places to buy in bulk.
Limited variety. While I believe that you can do more than you think with 10 herbs you know well, choosing ONLY the herbs that represent “abundance” for example, misses out on the nuance you can use in your practice. My kits go further, offering herbs and other ingredients that support creativity, perseverance, and luck – not just abundance.
I create spell kits designed to remove the obstacles to magic. They’re curated to empower your magical practice with thoughtfully chosen ingredients in just the right amounts. Magic is about weaving intention with action — not cutting corners. A spell for prosperity is powerful, but it works best when paired with practical steps: brush up your resume, send out applications with killer references, and let the magic amplify your efforts.
There is a magic to the tangible. The whiff of cinnamon, mint, or rosemary; the rough edges of star anise and celestite. The magic we make ourselves is much more potent than magic out of a box, because YOU are the magic.
Step One
Lay Out Ingredients
Find a space that’s clear enough to work. Perfection isn’t the goal here — presence is. If “clean” means pushing the crayons to one side of the counter and sweeping the crumbs onto the floor, so be it. That counts. Magic doesn’t wait for spotless counters, and neither should you.
Step two
Speak In The Present
When you create your intention, ensure you use present tense. It’s more powerful and clearly shows your mind what is, rather than what may happen. Stay clear of words like, “can” or “will”.
Step three
Say Your Intention
Begin by clearly stating your goal of the working, or spell. You can write this on a piece of paper or just speak it. Remember, magic is adaptable.
Step four
Act As If
“I am grounded and centered, and am able to tackle what is in front of me.” Take three deep breaths, maybe a fourth, and step forward with balance.
“I am wise with my abundant resources.” Send out those resumes, customized for your application.
Ancestor Work Spell Jar
The veil between the worlds is thin in the fall; the old year is dying, daylight is fading, and the night grows. As the leaves fall and the winds swirl, Samhain, Halloween, and Días de los Muertos arrive each year. All of these are as in-season as the fall, and as the...
